Introduction PV CYCLE
PV CYCLE a.i.s.b.l. is a non-for-profit association of global members from the PV industry, founded in 2007 and whereby operations have started in 2010.
The aim of the organization is the environmentally sound and efficient return and recycling of discarded photovoltaic (solar) panels, including options for the preparation of reuse.
Since February 2014, the solar panels in Europe have been gradually included in the national take-back laws for electrical and electronic equipment on the basis of the WEEE Directive 2012/19 / EU.
PV CYCLE has therefore founded independently operating companies in the countries with the largest sales markets for solar panels – Germany, Italy and France – that meet the respective national requirements of the WEEE legislation.
There is also PV CYCLE Belgium, PV CYCLE Netherlands and PV CYCLE UK.
Outside of Europe, PV CYCLE is active in the USA, some South American countries, India, Japan and China.
Although there is not a similar uniform set of regulations in these countries as in Europe, the same questions and requirements for proper recycling are at the horizon.
In principle, all national companies are controlled and supported by PV CYCLE a.i.s.b.l.
The degree of independence is very different from country to country.
PV CYCLE Germany GmbH is currently looking for a Business Development and Operations Manager Germany, for which there are three main ares of responsibilities:
- Upstream management or compliance management to support manufacturers to follow WEEE Obligations.
- Downstream management or disposal services for the Holder and Owner of the PV Panels waste and or other disposal companies,
- Advice for larger and smaller energy producers who maintain, operate and build solar parks.
So far, the internal organization of PV CYCLE has been divided into the following work areas:
- For the upstream sector there is a central membership management operated from Brussels, which, in close cooperation with the respective country manager, handles the acquisition and support of the manufacturers, importers and distributors of solar panels.
- For the downstream area there is the central area “Operations”, which organizes the cooperation with the service providers (transporters and recylers) and organizes specific disposal orders. Depending on their expertise, the country managers also take on some of these tasks. This division is located in Brussels and currently manages the operations in the whole of Europe, except France and Italy. The objective by opening the postion of Business Development and Operations Manager Germany, is to ensure that also Germany runs its own Operations division.
- The consulting sector is mainly covered by the management based in Brussels, but depending on the competence, the country managers are also involved.
Due to the inclusion of the PV panels in the WEEE legislation, a great deal of competition has arisen among take-back systems and recyclers. The competition requires “proactive sales and operations management” by a competent team of staff members.
That’s why we want to strengthen our team.
What we expect:
Comprehensive knowledge and experience of the WEEE market (upstream and downstream), including knowledge of other WEEE streams or waste streams such as packaging, batteries, cables.
Skills for the simplified explanation of complex facts towards customers having or not having specific knowledge about WEEE-Compliance and waste management.
Individual acquisition skills with flexible customer orientation and implementation of advantageous conditions.
Skills to design and organize strategic partnerships with logistics and recycling companies.
Executing collection and transport orders from municipal and private collection points as well as from direct pick-up requests.
Creative skills to develop new business areas including new performance and price profiles.
Teamwork.
Showing confidence and confident appearance towards customers, prospects and stakeholders as well as at trade fairs and events.
Language Skills: German and English are a must; Dutch, French or other languages are an additional asset.
Work schedule:
The applicant will work very closely with the Managing Director of the sole shareholder of PV CYCLE Germany and the Country Manager Germany in the start-up phase. In the mid-term, the Country Manager Germany is the main point of contact.
Cooperation with the other business areas – membership management and finances – is a prerequisite.
The long-term objective is to take over a business area in one or more countries independently and on one’s own responsibility.
